About Mardy Lin created his first television program CIRCUS ACTION aged 22 with three friends. It quickly became the highest rated program on Taiwan's biggest youth station, Channel V, and together they went on to film five series. They produced, filmed, directed and handled all post-production. The program led to an album release and a series of advertising deals for international brands such as HEINEKEN, NOKIA and NEUTROGENA, for which they created their own short videos released online -- viral videos before Youtube hit Asia.
During this time Mardy also spent two years (2010-2011) as director/producer for the NIKE/NBA China Tour (100 BASKETBALL).
In 2009 he co-directed the documentary ATTITUDE, following TAIWAN BEER's basketball team, which went on Taiwan nationwide cinema release and won the Singapore Film Festival's award for Best Documentary. This followed a series of critically acclaimed shorts, including CHAOS (2007), which won multiple awards in Taiwan and was also released at the cinema.
In 2011 Mardy decided to move permanently behind the camera and focus on his directing career, shooting music videos for major Asian pop stars such as Christine Fan and Kimberley Chen and indie bands 831 etc, as well as commercials for Chinese television, promos for some of China's biggest entertainment programs and a branded short, FADED, for one of China's biggest state-owed firms COFCO, that received over 2,000,000 hits in its first month online. Mardy Lin was Creative Director of Making Studios, part of Zhejiang Creative Visual Culture, in Hangzhou, China 2013-2015. He moved to Europe early 2016.
